{"id":827,"date":"2014-07-31T14:41:12","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T12:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thomasdt.com\/?p=827"},"modified":"2014-07-31T14:41:12","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T12:41:12","slug":"valuable-note-conversion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rationalk.ch\/blog\/valuable-note-conversion\/","title":{"rendered":"Valuable note conversion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Taking meeting&rsquo;s notes or minutes is one thing.<\/p>\n<p>It helps the note taker to remind himself about important facts discussed in a meeting or during a presentation.<br \/>\nYou can make them way more useful if you convert them into <strong>organized knowledge<\/strong>.<br \/>\nUnder organized knowledge I mean a document recorded in the company database.<br \/>\nA good practise would be to convert every items of your freshly-taken notes into :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An assigned action with due date<\/li>\n<li>An update of documentation like a specification or a handbook<\/li>\n<li>An update in the project decision log<\/li>\n<li>An update in the risk (or opportunity) register<\/li>\n<li>A short communication to colleagues<\/li>\n<li>A planning update<\/li>\n<li>A change in the software<\/li>\n<li>Whatever you want but something else than a hand written document than no one will use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don&rsquo;t wait too long to do this. Try do do it live or at least within one week period.<br \/>\nDoing it quickly after the meeting prevents :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>People to wait too long for your feedbacks<\/li>\n<li>Having to convert tons of notes at once.<\/li>\n<li>forgetting anything<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This seems obvious but sometimes it is useful to recall obviousness.<\/p>\n<p>Note that this process is a lot easier is you <a title=\"Going Paperless\" href=\"http:\/\/thomasdt.com\/going-paperless\/\">take your notes paperless<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Taking meeting&rsquo;s notes or minutes is one thing.
